Emergency Response Planning

Regardless of whether your operations are in a major hurricane prone area, tornado alley, areas with high blizzard or avalanche potential or in what appears to be the safest place possible, your company is still at risk of a major incident occurring.  Beyond the expense of property damage, the loss of productivity, sales and long range financial strain can be enough to bankrupt even the strongest of businesses.

Northrup Grumman's ship building facility in Pascagoula, MS learned this first-hand when Katrina came ashore in 2005.  While the majority of their facilities, equipment, cranes and ships weathered the storm, there was still structural damage in some locations.  Additionally, employees' homes, vehicles and lives were affected which made it difficult to return the company to operation quick enough to avoid revenue drops and a drop in share prices.

It is important for all businesses, small and large to consider the ramifications of these types of incidents.  Sentinel Consulting Group provides experienced consultants that can assist with emergency/disaster response plans and continuity of operation planning.

Mock exercises are another service offered by Sentinel which can put the plans into action in order to determine weak points that may present problems and also to ensure the comprehension with those that may be affected by such a disaster.  These can include table top, or full scale role playing that creates as real a setting as possible.
